Craig Neleson, MD

While pain clinics are abundant throughout the nation,
very few offer the individualized, focused care
that only a physician trained in multiple specialties can provide.

Dr. Craig Neleson, a board-certified Physiatrist (specialist in Physical Medicine) draws treatment protocols from a deep knowledge of physiology, orthopedics, neurology, and psychology-all of which enter into addressing a patient's pain.

Severe, persistent pain can be debilitating, robbing the individual of easy motion and peace of mind. While pain clinics have secured a large foothold among U.S. medical facilities, very few actually approach the individual patient with a personally tailored treatment plan that answers their particular physical and emotional needs by addressing their whole physical status.

Dr. Neleson prepared for medical school by earning both a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology, both from Stony Brook University in New York. He received his MD from Sackler Medical School in Tel Aviv, Israel, and continued with specialized training in the following fields:

  • Fellowship in Orthopedic Sports and Musculoskeletal Medicine at Sinai Hospital, Baltimore
  • Fellowship in Pain Management and Interventions at Virginia Commonwealth University
  • Residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of Wisconsin
  • Residency in Internal Medicine at Oakwood Hospital, Michigan, and Long Island Jewish Medical Center, New York

To deliver the best possible array of treatment options to his patients, Dr. Neleson also has completed training in:

  • Acupuncture, Helms Institute, University of California-Los Angeles Physician Program
  • Osteopathic Manipulation, Michigan State University
  • Prolotherapy, Hackett Hemwell Foundation

Craig Neleson, MD

Dr. Neleson's extensive training and medical experience enable him to quickly discover the source of a patient's pain, deliver an exact diagnosis, and collaborate with the patient to devise the most effective plan of treatment. Most important for patients to know is that Dr. Neleson approaches pain care conservatively, only prescribing surgery as a last resort.
